Refund & Cancellation Policy

How deposits, cancellations, weather disruptions and refunds are handled for charters and event tickets.

Last updated: March 2026 · Ocean Voyage Events Pty Ltd, Sydney

This policy sets out what happens when plans change: cancellations by you, cancellations forced by weather or operations, and the refunds that follow each. The written charter agreement for your event may contain more specific terms; where they differ, the agreement prevails.

Client Cancellations

Private charters cancelled more than sixty days before the event receive a full deposit refund. Cancellations between sixty and thirty days receive fifty percent of the deposit. Inside thirty days the deposit is non-refundable, reflecting committed vessel, crew and supplier costs. Balances paid are refunded in full regardless of timing when we cancel or you cancel before the fourteen-day balance milestone.

Rescheduling Instead of Cancelling

Moving your date is usually better than cancelling. Reschedules requested more than thirty days out transfer the full deposit to a new date within twelve months at no charge. Inside thirty days a rescheduling fee of fifteen percent applies because committed crew and catering cannot always be released.

Ticketed Public Events

Tickets for scheduled public events such as the Reef Poker Series are refundable up to thirty days before departure, less a ten percent administration fee. Inside thirty days tickets are transferable to another person at no charge; contact us with the name change. Unused cabins on multi-day events follow the same thirty-day boundary.

Weather and Operational Changes

When the master cancels or materially alters an event for safety or weather, you choose between a full refund, a reschedule at no cost, or credit valid for eighteen months. Minor itinerary changes, such as an anchorage substitution or shortened transit, do not trigger refunds where the event itself is delivered.

How Refunds Are Paid

Approved refunds return to the original payment method within ten business days. Bank transfers may take a further few days depending on your institution. Refund approvals are confirmed in writing with the amount and expected date, and our accounts desk can be reached at [email protected] if a refund runs late.

Statutory Rights

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law. Where an event is not supplied as agreed and we are responsible, you are entitled to the remedies the law provides, which may include a refund, replacement or compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss.
